On September, 4th 2014, Thomas W. Springer, Inc. purchased a Haas VF-2 SS YT vertical machining center. This 40 taper, 24 tool machine with 12,000 RPM spindle and high-speed machining was also ordered with an extended table (30”x20”x20”) to accommodate larger parts. The machine is also equipped with a Renishaw wireless probing system and programmable coolant nozzle. The added speed of the “SS” platform and additional capacity will allow us to move an older vertical machine into our prototype/tooling area.
