In April of 2021, Thomas W. Springer, Inc. completed the installation of Datanomix Fusion production monitoring software on their seven Tsugami S206 screw machines. Fusion automatically establishes a benchmark of good production using data extracted from the machine’s control so there is no operator interaction required, as is the case with other monitoring systems that were evaluated. The benchmark understands typical cycle times, utilizations, and throughput for each job and measures this data against current job performance with a simple scoring system so it is quickly known if a job is not running as planned. Job quantity, shift quantity, parts per hour, first part time stamp, machine utilization and Fusion scoring are just a few of the optional statistics that are broadcast on the shop floor via two 50” television screens for all employees to see. There are also a host of customizable reports along with scheduling and quoting functionality that T.W. Springer looks forward to utilizing in the future.
